What a Victory
The Resurrection is forever the undeniable evidence that Satan's grip on the world is eternally broken, Whenever the defeated Prince of Darkness is reminded of the open tomb he is forced to cower in terror, for in those days between Good Friday and Easter Sunday, Jesus enticed the entire forces of Hell and before the eyes of the whole universe exposed their cunning, shattered their authority, and accomplished their overwhelming defeat. From the struggle, our Saviour emerged with the keys of death and Hell exclaiming, 'I am He that liveth and was dead, and behold, I an alive for evermore. Amen' Rev.1:18.
Michelangelo, the famous painter, has pictured this victory of Christ in an interesting manner. He shows the doorway of an ancient prison unhinged at Jesus' command with a demon crushed beneath the fallen portal.
On that glorious Resurrection day the Son of God shook off the shackles of death and precipitating a mighty earthquake rose from the nether regions of Hades to place His feet once more on solid earth. Then staying temporarily on the earth for a period of forty days He rose higher still to the ranks of the welcoming angels who amazed at His conquest sang 'Lift up O ye gates and let the King of Glory enter in'. Taking His seat on the Eternal Throne He rules and Reigns as the God Man, an authentic human being wielding the authority of God. Skepsis
